I stayed at the comfort suites once. It was located directly behind old town and a little bit secluded. It was safe, clean and very reasonable.

When ever you decide on a place go to www.tripadvisor.com and see what others who have stayed there have to say about it.

Well the 192, in spots, can be kind of ran-down and crummy. My family has a timeshare condo at the Fantasyworld Vacation Villas, which are off the 192, and that is in a good area. But that is the only one I would recommend off the 192.
Instead, I recommend you stay closer to Disney and not off the 192. The Sheraton Safari hotel off Apopka Vineland Rd. is very nice and isn't very expensive. You might also want to look into the Royal Plaza hotel across the street from Downtown Disney.

1) Kissimmee is on the East side of 192...
2) There aren't really any safe motels, unless you consider cocaine/ecstasy (illegal drugs) warehouses safe...

Your best bet would be to either stay on Disney property itself, or off of International Drive (I-Drive). If money is your issue and you think that off Disney property would be cheaper, it isn't necessarily true. Because the other places prices are right around the same for Disney's All Star Resort (and others like this), many don't offer free transportation to the parks, and the service is plain out rude.

The last time I went to Disney, I stayed at the La Quinta Lakeside....it was really nice and I felt pretty safe.
