Well my girl friend that lives next door to me never goes any where with out her kids and husband. I have asked to go out with me to a club and her husband say no. He does not want her to leave his site. She stays home with the kids and has no friends but me. So last night we told her husband that we were going out to dinner but we went to a club and had a good time. We drank and danced. We did not dance with any one but are selfs. I feel bad that she never gets to go any where. Did we do the right thing and lie to him so she can get one night out? She is only 24 and has never even been to a club.

Is your friend unhappy with her husband?
Are the kids bossed around like that too, and are unhappy?
Is her family messed up with ups and downs, and fights?

If the answers to all the questions are YES, then she should probably divorce him or work things out. He's probably insecure and wants her to stay with him.

But if the situation is that desperate enough for you and the woman to lie to the husband, then it was probably for the good purpose. If it isn't, then... you guys should both figure out if he's really that person for the woman.

I don't know.
Do I sound like a 6th grader???

This is not normal what her husband expects from her..does he go out by himself?then your friend has the same right.if she trusts him,he should trust her aswell....of course it wasn`t right to lie him,but it was right to go out,and have some fun.tell your friend that she needs to change something, cause a relationship like hers won`t bring anything else but frustration for her.
propose, for an outgoing the three of you...her husband, your friend and you.this way her man can get to know you better, and get a lil bit of trust in you,so this way in time he might be ok with the idea that she will from time to time go out aswell.
good luck.hope it helped..

That's a hard case because lying is never good for any relationship but neither is being super controlling. Your friend should get some marriage counseling with her husband to see why he wants her to be around him all the time. Maybe then he will loosen up a bit and she can get out.

No. Even if YOU feel she is wronged, it is her husband, and she must deal with him. How would you feel if she is right now in a argument because he found out? Best to never interfere in a relationship, even if you feel it is the right thing to do, unless abuse is involved. What would you also feel if she got drunk, and left with another guy? Bad Karma

Well, she shouldn't have to lie to her old man if she wants to go somewhere that he doesn't agree on. The problem is that she married a very controlling person and that sucks. Props to you for caring about your neighbors social life. Go for it and have fun, but be careful. Controlling people can be violent.

yes you did, she needs to get out in the world. you help her to get out of the house for once. thats what a true friend would have done for another friend.
