I think it would be a great idea! Don't you?
(I'm expecting some smart-*** remarks for posting this question.)

I myself have never suffered from this condition, but I would assume that the people who do, have no appetite for food whatsoever. So if they smoked some herb they'd want to eat. Right??

A big problem with anorexia is that symptom treatment (e.g. getting them to eat) is largely ineffective.

Anorexia is actually a misnomer. It means not being hungry but meanwhile people with anorexia take a lot of pride in intentionally starving themselves.

No matter how bad the munchies, I'm not sure you could get them to eat. Not eating is more about control than about food.

I suffered from Anorexia for years. It IS a head thing. So it wouldn't help CURRENT suffers.
I did so much damage to my digestion system that now even when I know I have to eat...I have no appetite. So my answer to you is ...YES it is the ONLY way I can eat and keep it in! If I don't my stomach cramps when I eat (along w/other problems). I heard of using this from history channel. Been used for centuries to treat many ailments like this and many others. I can't take any meds (stomach can even handle Tylonol). I think it is redickulous that our government has these hang ups about Marijuana. So much so that Collages can't even do research on this. But my Dr. can give me a phintinal(spelling?) Patch. That is 10 times greater then Morphine, also very addictive and reaked havic on everyone that I've talked to. Yet marijuana has helped me with many of my health problems. I am forced to sneak around- not to get high(u don't have 2 smoke much for what I need it 4) but for medicine that should have been researched and bought in a drug store.I'm with Monte Williams on this one.Marijuana has far less side effects then MOST of the meds that are out there!!!And it DOES help some for medical treatment. I raised this question to my Dr before I started -he agreed and told me to proceed. Went to another 2 Drs for different opions they too said "proceed" ! I don't "get high" only 2 hits or so will do. Not enough to "get high" so to speak.Just to stop the cramping so I can eat some food and not get sick each time I do. I hope I answered your Question!!! I too am SURE you'll get all kinds of "snotty" comments about this...THEY are not SUFFERING!!! THAT is when it's REAL EASY to sterotype and look down upon others!!! Not one person I have ever met would think I smoke.

Yes, it is a good idea, but there are other drugs you can take instead. Prednisone, a common steriod, is usually prescribed for appetite boosting. But I agree with the other girl, I can't recall the last time I got blazed and was craving carrot sticks.

ALL drugs should be legal if they come from a plant are something natural yes anyone wonting to smoke a joint let them it is good for a few things more then just getting high, if it is a natural god given herb yes use it, as you fell like it.it probably would help. those people are way to uptight.

When I first started smoking I got the munchies but after that it really did nothing for my appetite. Everyone is different. Maybe it could work!

Good idea. Only catch is that they would eat crap stuff like cheetos and snickers bars so they may gain some weight but would still be malnourished. I have never known anyone to get the munchies for steak and veggies!

people suffering from anorexia need psychotherapy. Marijuana would only complicate the issue
