It can't. An electron microscope uses electrons for imaging instead of visible light.

Compound microscopes use visible light, and are limited to a max of about 1,000 times magnification.

Electron microscopes can reach as high as 50 million times magnification.

I've never heard of a compound microscope, even Wikipedia has nothing on compound microscopes.

Ah, never mind. Thanks Yahoo! Search!

I think it is physically impossible, compound microscopes use light to pass through an object to make it visible, electron microscopes force electrons through the material to make a much more magnified 3-D image.

It can't. It's like asking how can a car be used just like a jet air plane.
