Can anyone remember the name of a series from the '70s that was part puppetry and part live action?

Stanley Unwin was the live actor ,I'm pretty sure he played a vicar and he had a briefcase with the puppet character inside,whom he used to release to go on cases.

Not the one you are thinking about, but check out Finger Bobs - got me every time - lots of hand puppets interspersed with spaced out hippies - what entertainmetn!
