Yes, $50,000 anywhere is a good starting salary for a college graduate. You get your experience and your next job will be higher paying.

Yes. It is good for someone 21 and just starting out. In a couple of years when you have experience under your belt and you decide to move on to another job you have a good base from which to start negotiating. Having both a college degree and then some experience under you belt puts you in an excellent position to move up I gave myself a $25,000 dollar a year raise after 4 years when I left one job for another. It was a combination of education/experience and learning how to negotiate a starting salary. (I did a couple of sessions with a management consultant).

It depends on where you live, the cost of living. In Chicago, it's pretty good, especially for 21. In San Francisco, you would be less than average earning.
