Thank you to MyDestiny for choosing the Aldehyde (CHO) group along with the Hydroxyl (OH) group. The aldehyde is very important in forming the ring structure of glucose molecule which is usually more stable in a cellular environment.

It has a aldehyde group and also hydroxyl groups. the -OH group at the first carbon will form a bond (with the loss of one water molecule) with another monosaccharide to become a disaccharide.
