can i keep herb plants [rosemary ,thyme, oragino] in the house over the winter ?,what kind of care do they need? what about chives&parsley? out side they are all in a large planter . no problem i have a place for it if needed.

Yes, you can bring your herbs in for the winter. First spray them with a mixture of dishsoap and water to kill any little bugs, etc that may be on them, you wouldn't want to contaminate any of your other houseplants with anything they might bring in. Then make sure they are placed in the best place for the light , humidity and temperature they need. Make certain they have good drainage and fertilize once a month if you want them to grow actively.

herb gardens do very well indoors. make sure ther's plenty of light. having the herb garden in your kitchen also makes it more convienent to use fresh picked herbs while cooking. have you tried making seasoned oils and vinegers with your herbs? great way to preserve and makes nice gifts too.

yeah my grandma does it all the time. Shouldnt hurt just make sure they have a light source.
