Honestly, people don't care. Other customers are too wrapped up in their own lives to really can and the sales associates just want to keep their jobs and keep their business profitable. The only options I know of for shopping is to have someone pretend to be doing the shopping and you're really shopping for yourself and not them. There's also buying online and completely anonymous. There's also trying to pass as female and going shopping for yourself while getting really nervous about whether you're passing or not. Then again there's also the option of just not giving a crap about what other people say and just going shopping for yourself, no matter how well you do or don't pass. I've been transitioning for about 10 months now, and I've yet to have anyone say something. Ever. And I can't really pass all that well either. Just look at your options and pick whichever you'd be comfortable with. Make sure you have someone there with you too. For one thing the support and knowledge they have can be a big help. Also, where's the fun in shopping alone? Sometimes you just have to push past your worries and do something! Just as long as you're safe about it, do whatever you want.
Oh, and don't listen to IndyT. He doesn't know what he's talking about. >:P

until you feel comfortable wearing girls clothes in public it will be a little bit weird going shopping
i don't know what you look like but if you have long hair try to put some thing famine in it
at the age of fourteen you will be the only person that will look twice in the mirror remember every one else has there own problems most don't even notice a murder right next to them or it will give it away
otherwise say your buying it for your sister and make sure your mum is tells the same story
if you want to go clothes buying for your self go to a second hand clothing shop you will find a lot of bargains there and is is a good way to find what looks good on you
it is good to hear that your mum is supportive of you good luck
Ps this is a site that has lots of information about transsexuals it has forums and chat and lots of things to do
jion as a basic member and try it cost nothing

So go shopping! If you want to be a girl then you need to act like a girl. Shopping is a good place to start. If that is uncomfortable for you then take another look at the decisions you have made for your self and your life.

Actually there isn't any legitimate doctor that will give testosterone blockers to a child that still hasn't finished growing. Any caught doing so will(rightly) have their license removed, at least in the USA. I suppose you don't know that females DO have testosterone in their system, just not in the quantities that males do.
Nice fantasy, but I don't believe it for a minute. There are just too many holes in your story.

If this is what you want to do and your mom is willing to back you, why would you be to ashamed to shop for them. People are eventually going to see you in the dresses. Or, you could always shop on-line. Good luck, God Bless

Are you seeing a doctor? You should be getting on a testosterone blocker. You'll regret it if you don't. Otherwise, you'll grow tall and masculine, and end up with a deep voice.
If your mother is with you, people won't look so much. They'll assume she's buying for your sister.

So then what's the problem? You're worried about people judging you for going shopping and buying dresses yet you're a boy who wants to be a girl? If I were you I'd be more concerned with how people will treat you when you're half way between.

Merchants and stores aren't really judgemental. They're in the business of selling merchandise and taking your money. So give them your money and take a dress home. If anybody says anything, well, just tell 'em it's your sisters birthday. If they ask how you knew her size tell them your Mom told you.
