No I find that my period starts light...gets heavier then gets lighter again...however it is not always the same each time and may end at 4 days or go 6 days...but it usually takes 5 for me...as many women as there are that is probably how different each period is to each woman. Add stress and physical problems into the mix and it can make a difference too...

Depends on the woman. Some have heavy flows for just a few days, some have light flows over 5 days... some have heavy flows over 5 days.

More than likely it will be similar to you mother's or sister's.

Its not a continuous bleed. It starts off gradually, builds up to a couple days bleeding, then trails off again. But even when she is bleeding, it is not constant. It flows little by little.

However long it takes your body to expel the unfertilized egg. That's what a period is. You ovulate and when you don't get pregnant, the egg leaves your body. Then a few weeks later the whole process starts again.
