All turtles are born small lol... But it was probalby a red eared slider witch grow to be 12 iches long..

It's illegal to sell turtles that are less than 2 inches long, due to a wide epidemic in like the 70s or 80's bc parents would by 'em for their little kids, and the turtles would end up in the kids' mouths. I have a red-eared slider, but box turtles, too, are sold young when they're small.

Usually baby Red-ear sliders.

They are technically illegal to buy or sell as babies without a valid scientific, educational or display purpose. They also are harder and more expensive to keep than the store owner wants you to believe.
