Security programs don't have anything to do with how fast your computer runs, functions, or downloads. Internet speed could be your problem- check to see if your internet speed is above 12 Mbps (it pops up if you check your status) while you are downloading. RAM could be another problem- or the lack of it. It can be expensive, but if you have less RAM than programs or your computer needs, it can run slower. Most likely the problem is your hard drive space- clear extra music, stored photos, and programs you don't use (uninstall programs and delete music and photos- be sure you empty your recycle bin) and then defrag your computer. You can get to this by
going to your control panel,
clicking on administrative tools,
then computer management,
you'll see disk defragmenter on the left hand side,
open and click defragment.
This will take a while, especially if you've never done it or its been a while. This organizes your computer's files, programs, and free space so it is easier for your memory to access, therefore making your system run smoother. If this doesn't help, call the 'Geek Squad' at Best Buy, or your internet provider/computer manufacturer.

Run only 1 security programs only. Even at running 1, it may cause your system to be slow. 2 will make it worse. Norton will slow down your system. I am using AVG which is free and good.

If you mean you have two anti-virus programs running at the same time... dont. Choose the one you like best and get rid of the other. Multiple anti-virus programs can conflict with each other, and could explain at least some of your computers poor performance.
