downloading games?

I was wondering how safe downloading games for your computer is? Especially from yahoo. Do people often get viruses from it, and do they slow down your computer?

Trusted sites are safe to download from, such as Yahoo, Gamehouse, and other things. Illegal download sites and programs, such as limeware, or any site that has "Cracks" all over it, shouldn't be downloaded from, because they DO carry viruses.
