Ask her a lot of open ended questions about herself that can't be answered with just "yes" or "no". Like what is your favorite movie? Oh really, why? and so on and so on. .
You'll be surprised how easy it is to get a person talking about themselves and that always scores big points. The other benefit is you learn alot about the person and then you have something to talk to each other about.
