I want to major in French, however I do not know what type of jobs I will be able to pursue.

There are a ton of job opportunities available! If you don't want to teach French, you could teach English in France. You could also work for the government, they always need people to interpret and translate. You could work for a travel agency and be a tour guide. Also, DisneyWorld hires language majors to do public relations for when foreign businesses come to have meetings and stuff on their premises. You can do anything from being a flight attendant to working for the UN. Think about your options and consider adding another major or a minor. If you love languages in general, learn Spanish as well! Or add International Business, or Communications. Good luck!!!

MNCs (multi-national corporations) have marketing departments segregated by either region, country, language, etc. Along with your major in French, you might want to consider a minor in International Marketing, Foreign Affairs, etc. to better prepare you for a career that won't be in the classroom.

you could live in a large city like New York and be a tour guide for the french. You could also be a tour guide for the english in france.
