I agree, it is very hard to come up with just one. But the one I keep referring to is , "The Grapes of Wrath", by John Steinbeck. Not only is he one of my favorite authors, "The Grapes of Wrath", is a story of true humanity and the human condition. It is all about love, sorrow, perseverance, suffering, deliverance, discrimination, survival, family, all things human.

You're right about not being able to come up with one. I have three; but when it comes down to it, I can put my finge ron Michael Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Chabon's prose is less gimmicky than most of today's popular writers, and his descriptions are both vivid and surprisingly eloquent. His title character Joe Kavalier hooked me from the first third of the novel, and his supporting cast is phenomenal, human and imperfect and still beautiful.
Chabon appeals to my literary side, and Kavalier & Clay is one of the premiere works of modern fiction. Telling the story of a young illusionist escaping from Nazi Europe and building a life in New York as a comic book writer, this novel spans decades to tell a story so vast that it's amazing how real every detail feels.

It's easy to come up with just one - no two books are exactly equal, so it's just a matter of choosing one book out of each pair of books until only one is left.
My book is "Moby Dick." This is the greatest Spiritual work by an American author, and perhaps the greatest Spiritual work in the English language.

One IS tough. I love books like Harry Potter, King Fortis the Brave and Eragon, but if I had to choose just one it would probably be King Fortis. The pacing was just a little bit better and the mix of humor and adventure was perfect for me.

I read a lot, that’s an understatement, I love to read! Right now I am reading Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Blum Novels. They are very entertaining to say the least. I also love the following authors as well; John Grisham, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, Kathy Reichs. I love mysteries best, I love trying to figure them out, before the last page. :)

Oh geez! I love books, so its REALLY hard to choose a favorite, but I'm gonna have to go with Catcher In The Rye. Its a wonderful book about coming of age that is so well written, that it has maintained its popularity over the years.

It's impossible to come up with just one...but this weeks favorite of mine is THE EXPECTED ONE by Kathleen McGowan. It is a book about Mary Magdalene and it really gives you alot to think about with religion and the bible. It is fiction...but the possibilities it eludes to are amazing....a real "keeper".
In the young adult section as much as I love Harry Potter there is another series that is really great is PENDRAGON by DJ MacHale. It is a fast moving, really exciting series about another boy and his adventures as a "traveler". Excellent read and we can't wait for book 8 to come out.

"The Count of Monte Cristo", by Alexandre Dumas. The element of revenge is what makes this book what it is.
"Traitor", by Matthew Stover in the Star Wars New Jedi Order series is also amazing. It is a very psychological book, and made me rethink almost everything I thought I knew about religion and life.
