Strong enough not to hate? Strong enough not to let anything affect us? Or what is it thinking?

He/She/It wants us to have the "Courage to Be." That means being who and what you are regardless of your circumstance and time. Men and women will judge us by the standards and customs of our time, but I think we must hold ourselves to a higher rule. The rampant bigotry, militism, and 'old-testament' thinking that is commonplace in this time will be a footnote to an embarassing era in American History. It's a test to be something better than what our culture currently holds dear. Again, the "Courage to be...better."

Strong as He needs you to be. He will build you up and strenghten you.
