although i'm too cheap to buy a gun, i do think the right to bear arms is one of our most important rights. I do think there should be free or at least cheap gun safety classes a new owner should take. I also think punishment for committing a crime with any type of weapon should automatically bring severe punishment.

Beware of a society that keeps it's people disarmed by law... the right to bare arms is a provision of our constitution for a very good reason and that reason is to insure that the people being governed are the ones who ultimately are in charge - by force if necessary.

I personally feel that the government ought to provide the current military version personal weapon to anyone who desires one. It's is good for the security of the nation to have a well armed population.

I do believe that it is a persons right to bear arms. It is one of our freedoms that we have that make america great. As long as the person is responsible with them.

seriously, i think ppl with guns r more likly to get shoot themselves or shoot someone by accident than do any good. (i mite be being a bit hippocritical, there's a gun cabnet a few feet to my left - but it hasn't been opened in years, and the guns aren't mine, they belong to the people i share the house with)

Yep. Guns are not the reason people kill other people. They don't even make it that much easier. And let's face it, most of the people who say they can't stand guns and wish they were illegal are just scared of them. And have probably never used one.
