I've been married to two women who told me I was their Soulmate. I deeply loved each of them while our marriages lasted. In both cases, THEY'RE the ones who left me. I would have stayed with them forever. Whatever they meant by Soulmate, it didn't mean they'd be with me forever.

As much as I loved them, I can't say it ocurred to me to think of them as "Soulmates". I guess my question is this:

Do you think of HER as your Soulmate or is that a "female" concept?

What man says "soulmate?" That involves feelings, which we do not have. This sounds more like a question of you sexuality.

Sorry but i have to answer this one, as for Soul-mate being a female thing NO it is not. This is what it means to me,it comes with time trust pride friendship sex growing old together. When looking in her eyes and seeing and feeling that special something that goes right to your heart. The long ride home from work your song comes on the radio and all you see is her face and you start to smile. All the ups and downs you go through .In my opinion if you two can get through twenty years and still feel love wouldn't you say that person was your SOUL-MATE well that is what my husband said to me.Everything I'm telling you my husband said to me. I can honestly say that we are SOUL-MATES.

I was married for exactly 20 years to the day (12/22/79 - 12/22/99) and that term never came up between us. Since our divorce we have actually become better friends then we ever were during our marriage.

If she or I would ever call one another our soul-mate I think her new husband might take exception.

I have a couple of girlfriends use the term "soul mate" to me. I think that its a conceptual thing that means different things to each person. I guess its when you truly know you have found a soul mate you will know it deep in your heart and the other will have the same strong connection. I guess its the same thing saying "I love you" if you have that connection you will know it too.
