Are you depressed? Depression can make you feel tired even if you had a full night's sleep. I guess it takes a lot out of a person and no regular amount of sleep seems like enough. You might be depressed if you have stopped being interested in friend and social events, you are eating more or less than usual, or you wonder what is the point of waking up in the morning.

Trouble sleeping at night is usually caused by stress, not outside sources. Doctors recommend that if you're having trouble sleeping, get out of bed. Only get into bed when you are ready to sleep. If you're sitting in bed every night worrying about life, or worrying about why you can't get to sleep, your bedroom becomes a place of frustration, not a place of tranquility.

So many nutty ideas!
I used a couple things you might find helpful.
When I go to bed, I remind myself I have done everything I can today. (or 'the best I can today' might also work) If I used a computer, I 'log off'.
Once I'm in bed, I close my eyes and imagine myself getting in a lift (elevator) at the top of a tall building at about floor 23. The lift doors close, and the lift descends but I couldn't tell you what's at the bottom, or what floor I get out. 5 floors and I'm asleep.

Try Dr. Stuart's Tranquillity Tea. It's the best :-) Also, write down anything that's bothering you. Relaxing music also helps.

10 pints of lager or a bottle of scotch would help I can assure you!
On a more serious note...poor sleeping normally indicates that you have a lot on your mind....i.e. some worries or issues that are all too real in the quiet and personal space that is sleep. Trying to sort out these would I think mean a restful and productive night's sleep....
Good luck.

Dont have a nap during the day.No coffee in th evening.Doing exercise late at night is not a good idea either.Learn some relaxation techniques. Eat a banana before going to bed.
Most important, get some sesame seed oil and rub it on the sole of your feet in a circular motion. You will find that amazingly effective ! Also reading books can help.

hi there, i sufer from the problem too.. to be honest in my experience there is no propa cure.. but all i do is simply stay up ALL night and ALL the following day.. and then you'll sleep like a baby come 10pm. That should in theory "reset" ur sleep cycle... and aslong as you cut out the coffee and exercise during the day you should be fine. I find that doing a couple of all nighters here and there does the trick.. good luck. OH and never go to sleep (or try going to sleep) in a room with a TV or PC it just DOESNT help. cheers

Don't take naps durring the day and excercise more. That way, when you go to bed you'll be tired enough to go to sleep. If that doesn't work, try lowering your body's core temperature by eating ice cream and taking cold showers right before bedtime.
