a parent: the maker of the person who made the coffee maker. it is gramatically correct. i don't have the experience to explain why, but the fact that the question makes sense is some proof of gramatical correctness.

First of all, it's coffee, AN explanation, and you don't need the whether in that sentence. Oh, and it's grammatically correct.
If a coffee maker makes coffee,
then a coffee maker maker could be the machine that makes the coffee maker,
and the coffee maker maker maker could be the person who makes that machine.
Grammatically? It might be 'coffee maker's maker's maker', but I'm not sure. (as in, a maker of a maker of a coffee maker)

screw that, the inn i artwork at basically have been given an computerized pancake maker. you push a button, it farts out pancake combination (definite, it farts...an exceptionally genuine sounding fart), and in a million minute you have 2 completely cooked pancakes rolling off a mini conveyor belt onto your waiting plate. ...all i want is a spare $1500.
