It can be bloating..
Or you may be big from showing a little bit if you have a tiny frame...but if you are gaining weight at a really fast rate..that is not good.. it could mean that you are gaining too much weight..and you may need to modify your diet.. I would talk to my doctor when I had my next appointment.. and make sure you are watching what you are eating.. you aren't 'eating for two' you are eating for one.. that needs about 300 extra good calories a day.. it doesn't mean you have double at each meal..
Hopefully that helps..but a lot of it could be due to bowel distention...
Are you smaller framed? How much weight have you gained?
I'm 9 weeks today..and haven't gained any weight yet..

Some women can gain 20 pounds for pregnancy, and others can gain almost 70 pounds, depending on the way their body reacts to pregnancy. *My friend becomes diabetic when she becomes pregnant, causing her to gain alot of weight* Its normal, especially if this is your first pregnancy. You might be having some mental issues also which is possibly making you worry a little more then normal, which isn't good for your baby. Don't worry about the weight gain, its expected, especially in the beginning of gestation. However, if you want to be extremely sure, go to your doctor and let him know about it. Otherwise, try not to worry so much because high amounts of stress will cause problems for your baby.

Talk to your doc! Everyone is different. I didn't really start showing until 24ish weeks. I'm now at 32 and look "tiny" compared to some women way behind me, yet my baby is actually large for her age.
I doubt you have anything to worry about, but do bring it up at your next appointment. And for people to say you look "x months" is ridiculous. I've seen 8 monthers I thought were 5 and 4 monthers I thought were 7 or 8. Ignore what people think, just take care of yourself and be excited for your new baby.

Is this your first? With my first I didn't really start showing until about 3-31/2 mos & only gained 40#'s but with my second I was in preggy pants at 8wks and gained 70#'s. I wouldn't worry too much. When you have your first check up the doc will check you out and if you already have and the doc wasn't concerned with anything I wouldn't worry.

Everyone's body handles pregnancy different. A friend of mine didnt start showing until she was almost 7months pregnant and yet another friend started showing in her 2nd month. Im now 26 weeks and definitley showing -- I was about 4months when I started devoloping the wonderful pooch.
At your next visit to the OBGYN express your concerns and any questions you may have - that will help tremendously!
I would also recommend getting the book "Week by Week of your Pregnancy", this book has answered so many of my questions and may help you also.
CONGRATS TO YOU!!

If this isnt your first child it is completely normal. Other wise it might just be the way your body is - I started showing in my 2nd month with my first child- It seems to happend alot with thin girls. I wouldnt worry too much about gaining too much weight unless you gain alot each week

Are you having twins?
At 2months, I was totally showing. My sister did not start showing until the 7th month.
Do you have twins in your family? Have you had an ultrasound yet? Thay may answer your question.
Who knows, maybe you will be the first in your family to have twins...

when i was six weeks pregnant, i was so big that they swore that i was having twins, up until the ultrasound...its normal, everyones pregnancy is different, belly size varies and weight...if it was a true issue, your OB/GYN would say something to you
