1. If they live alone, call daily at set time to make sure they are o.k.
2. Offer to take them to their next doctor's appointment.
3. Help them understand confusing mail (I have helped more than one elderly person avoid costly mistakes).
4. Offer one trip a month to the grocery store.
5. Treat them to a beauty shop or barber appointment.
6. Pick up prescriptions when they are ill.
7. Bring small surprise presents: as plate of cookies, an "I appreciate you" card; an inexpensive gift card; a trip to see a shut-in friend

1) Go for a visit, many are very lonely.
2) Take them out shopping for their groceries etc.
3) Take then to their appointments:Dr.'s, Hair etc.
4) Offer to help them with their housework if they are still at home.
5) Take them a surprise meal and dessert.
