(I just finally watched this, so please forgive me, but...) it always bothers me when movies don't make internal sense. In Doom, they obviously have advanced technologies, but why do the soldiers NOT have the following:

(1) Nightvision, or some other low-light optics?
(2) Better weapons? (Sarge's limited use of the BFG sucked)
(3) Motion, infrared, or life-signs detectors?
(4) Remote camera/weapons platforms/robots?
(5) Flashbangs and other similar items?

AND why didn't they just plant lights everywhere they went? It was very frustrating because they could've had the same kind of story arc without making the soldiers look stupid and under-equipped.

AND I can't believe they ran the assault according to any doctrine that any special ops teams use. I think they made every stupid mistake in the book, and then some.

If they had gone in with the best tech and weapons available, the best strategy and the best leadership it wouldnt have been much of a story.

Monsters attacks,
send in troops,
troops use all advantages,
kick monsters butt in two minutes,
roll credits and you haven't even finished your junior mints yet

Just like the video game, no one expected the demons from Hell to be so vicious. They were probably expecting a disgruntled employee with a gun.

first of all, i thought most of those soldiers died when they first got off the ship, wasn't that in the videogame, not to mention that the only sole human survivor was the soldier

besides they did the same exact crap with resident evil

Because if they had and used those things it would make for a very dull story....not that the movie was all that good anyways.....

Sorry you had to endure another video game to movie format. I know, they almost always suck.

Maybe the government is cheap and they only give them what they need.
