mainly girls do this. like who cares what thy're goin to where tomarrow. or what thy're nails look like. oops your make up is smuged. I can't stand it. its like thay always have to look pretty. unlike me, i just get up, dresses, and go to school.

they just wanna be hot. Why do girls care so much about how they look. because if a guy sees something better looking they get cheated on. not all girls are obsessed with the way they look I sure aint.

unfortunatly we live in a superficial world.
Girls are bombarded from like age 5 with images of what is pretty. Magazines, movies, popular girls, cheerleaders, etc. etc. etc,
So yeah most of us get caught up with it and can get a little obsessive at times.
Also, we like clothes, and nail polish, and getting dressed up, maybe not all the time. But all that stuff is pretty, It is just another wonderful difference between the sexes. So just appreciate the differences and be glad that you don't have to go through all that work. You could compliment a girl sometime on how she looks, that would be nice.!!

Hmm I see your concern. But with girls it's like this "you look good, you feel good, and people feel good about you". Another reason why is because with girls it is a competitive world out there! Some girls are trying to look their best to attract guys and honey, a lot of guys I know like pretty girls. But to us pretty is way more complicated, we tend to think guys look at smudged makeup and it's OVER for us, or chipped nails, or an error with the hair and they don't. Just the way we think. We wanna look good to feel good. If I think I look ugly that day then I don't feel too well. Some girls are concerned about their looks for themselves, some for guys, some for both. :)

Mainly girls are concerned about the way they look is because for you GUYS out there. Seriously girls want to liked and if they have a crush they obviously want to look good in front of them. That's why us girls wear make up, think about what we wear the next day and look pretty. It might sound stupid but its true. Also its just because us girls dress the way we feel like me i wear make up because i want to and i sometimes think about what i want to wear the next maybe because of a special day or something.

would you care if they stopped trying just like you? if all girls stopped shaving, wearing makeup, dressing nicely. if we decided to be comfortable, like men can, what would happen? do you pay any attention to the girls who don't try to do anything about their looks? listen, i'm not saying that you are wrong. i think people should do exactly what they want with themselves and nothing more. but don't judge people who put in the effort. they have a very high social standard to attain. hate to break it to you, and to me, but that's the way the world is

Several reasons, take your pick:
1) ugliness is taboo in our society, due mainly to media brainwashing.
2) regarding girls, you have to understand not all of us are born natural beauties. What's wrong with wanting to look prettier than we really are?
3) people are superficial and shallow.
4) not everyone's as lucky as you.

it's the media, for the guys so u can get their attention,guys like girls that are pretty and well dressed.To fit in and all tha crap. and i like to dress up everyday. Because when you dress nice you feel good the whole day.

im a girl. i care but i dont get depressed if i dont look just right. it seems pretty stupid to get dressed all prom and pretty to go to school or to work if u arent even doinganything special. if ur meeting the pope or the president then i would understand but it seems like a waste of time to me.

Because of the world we live in now and days. you know, like with the "super model size two figure" and the "new and improved" make-up, and beauty products. i mean looking decent is okay but people are overly obsessed with themselves.
