Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 2bbl carb. on a Ford inline 6 motor. If can what is the performance difference?

Well you can put a 2 barrell on it with no problem, an adapter is all you need, you can put a 4 barrell on it (choke) or 2 2barrells. But a single 2 barrell will help some without any extensive modifications to the rest of the motor, however if your doing this for power reasons then you should think about the cam, valves, etc. A inline six can really fly if done right.

As was mentioned above check with your emissions laws , if you have to have regular emissions checks done, then there is a glitch, however like here wher eI live, I could put a supercharger on it, and 6 carbs, makes no difference...... :)

It can be done, but it isn't going to help a great deal unless you use a performance conversion.
But the problem there is that it will become emissions illegal, as it will be considered MODIFIED and not legal for road use.

Jegs used to have an Offenhauser 4bbl intake for this engine, it advertised a 50 hp gain.

its not realy worth it, check out jcwhitney.com for a 4bbl swap, they have cams and a header depending on what this motor is in

I can research this for you. Why is you want to put a two on it? What model does it have now, carter, tomco or holley? Get me this and let me see what I can do for ya.
