There are players in the Hall of Fame that did punt (Otto Graham, Sammy Baugh, George Blanda among others), but no one is in the Hall of Fame simply by virtue of punting.

Ray Guy of the Raiders is generally considered the best punter of all time. There were others that were very good also; you can usually tell who is very good based on length of career.

Yes. Former Raider Ray Guy is easily the best. Best career average among punters. Reggie Roby was an outstanding punter fro the University of Iowa who had an outstanding NFL career and still holds the distiction of being the only punter to average 50 per kick in ONE season (minimium of 20 attempts).

It would have to be Ray Guy because if I'm not mistaken he is the only punter in the Hall of Fame.

I've always like Sean Lendetta and Reggie Roby too.
