I think people are referring to 'machismo', which stereotypically, Brits don't exude- but I'm referring stereotypically. I think the 'manly' ratio should be the same as other Anglos.

I don't really understand your question. In England being gay could either mean.... You are gay or it could mean you are wierd.

If you are getting at being gay then thats just stupid. How can every Brit be gay? There wouldn't be a Britain if they were all gay now would there.

If you are talking about being wierd then the only reason I could imagine you would say that is because you are gay (wierd) yourself. I notice that your counterparts have put down that the British are shallow. Is it not a shallow comment to tarnish everyone with the same brush?

And if we are gay as in actually gay as a nation then why are we fighting your war in Afghanistan? Why are British soldiers deployed to Southern Iraq? Its becuase your "gay" soldiers cant win without us. Also you didn't even get envolved in World War 2 until they bombed Pear Harbour. The gays have a reputation of looking out for their own interests and that is exactly what America does. That is why we are not gay. You big gay yank.

Because some of us are? And, unlike many other countries in the world, Britian has a thriving gay community in cities such as London, Brighton and Bournemouth etc. and is therefore less likely to have an underground gay scene.

There's gay people everywhere, and they've always existed.

Just because in some countries people chose to stop hiding it or stop making life impossible for gays, that does not mean there are more gays in what ever country.

So, I don't know why people bother to say that British are gay. By the way, in my country (Netherlands) I have never heard any one say that British are gay........... so, must be your culture........

because those people dont know what they are talking about. maybe alot of people in england are gay(and theres nothing wrong with that) but not every single one is.
