I think its pretty obvious that when any team loses it is no one persons fault, but in fact the whole teams fault...hense what a "team" is. More specifically though I feel Torre messed up in a couple of ways. First, he should have had Wang pitch in game 4 with one day less rest than usual and try to force a game 5. This would send it back to NY and would have more of a mental impact on Detroit. Second, Shef at first was moronic. Maybe if he had more time there, but that was a really bad move. With all that said, if players don't execute then theres nothing a manager can do right or wrong.
P.S. You have to give Detroit credit. They flat out played good baseball... way better than NY.

Man, some of you just don't get it!
The Tigers were the better team for 3 games!
I can talk all day about how the Yankees
beat themselves and I would be right,
but the fact remains that the Tigers flat out beat them
by pitching better, fielding better, swinging their bats better,
everything the Tigers did was right
and the little bit the Yankees did was all wrong!
The Yankees just plain fell apart and the poor pitching staff
is only partially to blame.
Their big heads got in the way of their goal ~ ~ ~ ~ #27!
God, I'm so mad I could spit!

the subject is, interior the AL, a minimum of two solid communities would be ending up out of the postseason. What the professionals do is evaluate each and every team's strengths and weaknesses and that's the muse of their selection on who's in or out. That being suggested, i think of the professionals look on the Yankees pitching and see a obvious deficiency in it and be sure that they won't make the postseason. you may determine that the pink Sox, Angels, and Tigers are the favorites of their divisions, that leaves the Mariners, the Indians, the Blue Jays, and the Yankees vying for the Wild Card. somebody has to omit the playoffs, and that's basically their opinion. an analogous component happens to my team each and every of the time, each and every physique doubts the Padres, the professionals on ESPN and the folk here on Y!A. specific, it annoys me, yet I appreciate their opinion and on an analogous time attempt to show them incorrect.

Its the fault of the players and the GM. The players did not play that style of Yankees baseball that they were known for patience at bats and working over pitchers. None of the big bats preformed in the clutch and were not able to cash in on crucial at bats.
Its the fault of the GM because everyone but him seems to know that pitching wins championships and that was the major weakness of this team (and for the most part the last few teams). I feel that the Yankees could have sacrificed a few of those bats and sure up that pitching staff, but they did not and look at where they are.

Nope...
It's the GM's fault for putting together such a ragged starting pitching staff and mediocre middle relief.
Sure, they are built for the long 162 game season... BUT get them in a short series and they are VERY vulnerable... as the last several season has proven again and again.

Anyone who thinks Joe Torre is to blame is crazy. He's one of the best managers in baseball today. If anyone is to blame it's the lousy pithing staff and the rest of the players -- especially A-Rod. Did he even get one RBI throughout the whole series?

Quite honestly it was all the players fault.
They thought that just because they were the yankees that other teams should just lay down and hand them a world series on a silver platter.
Doesnt work like that. If you want something you have to WORK for it and EARN it.
That is something new yorkers know nothing of.
