There was once a time that your typical cyber hacker was an introverted computer geek who expressed himself by creating a malicious virus for boasting rights. Now, the goal of hacking is to make money. Criminals love uploading their malicious software to peer to peer networks because people are easily enticed to download copy protected videos, music or software programs for free. But, in fact, the files are Trojans and other malicious files. Remember most malware requires the user to voluntarily download the program. It is easy to trick someone in to downloading a file thinking its some booklegged product. In a nutshell, people are greedy and, if you dangle a carrot in front of them, they will eagerly chase after it.
