The thing is, I really would like to have a natural birth. When do you think it will be safe to conceive? My husband and I love being parents and want another one! (no, we're not crazy) But I want it to be as safe as possible.

From what I heard from my doctor you are suppost to wait for a year before you can get pregnant again. But that is what my doctor told me, so go to your doctor and find out what he/she is saying about you getting pregnant that soon. Hope this helps...

No you are not crazy. I raised 19 children that is crazy but I would not change a thing. It is safe to start trying to conceive again. If there is no problem with the childs positioning I see no reason why you would not be able to have a natural birth this time either.

Go back to your OBGYN and have another Pap (yearly exam) and he should automatically check the incision from the inside to see if it is healing or has healed well. Also let him know that you and your hubby are ready to conceive. He will honestly tell you if your body is ready to carry another baby.

Mine told me that I could have a natural birth along as everything went according to that plan. (C-section with first baby looking up instead of down.) By the way he said that I was ready to concieve at anytime (when I was ready). My son is 18mo old. I am not quite ready yet. Good luck!

you should talk to your doctor as far as the c-section goes, but most likely you will have to have another section. The risk of a uterine tear after a section while going for natural is quite high.

But the more children you have in a shorter period of time, is bad for your body in the future. The less time that your body has to recover from birth the higher the chance of uterine cancer is later in life.

Good luck, but really check with your doctor be for you do anything.

As long as you're in good health and had an uncomplicated pregnancy with your last child, it should be safe to conceive again. But ask your OBGYN just to be sure. I conceived my second child 11 months after my cesarean. I had a vaginal birth after cesarean (also referred to as a VBAC) with my second child. Things went very smoothly for me. There are certain risks associated with a VBAC and your doctor will have you sign a form stating you've been informed of them. Ask lots of questions.

Good luck!

I would be careful
Your tissures might not have fully healed and the weight of the baby can tear you internally and cause you to bleed. Thats why they dont rec more then 3 and even the 3rd and a risk. Imgaine pressure on a wound freshly healed.. it could tear right?? well that could be you.. SLow it down god has blessed you dont rush

Talk to your Dr about how long it takes for complete healing.
And go for it.

If you would like to have natural birth I would read a great book called Ina may Gaskin's guide to childbirh and the thinking woman guide to a better brith

you need to give your body time to heal. if you conceive to soon, you can be at risk for pre-term labor or miscarriage. also, it might be too hard for you to deal with two children under the age of 2.

my sugesstion would be to go and ask a doctor if it is okay for you to conceive again.. because chances are if the wound isnt fully healed it will tear and you will bleed..

how do you know the c-section won't happen again, take care of this child before you start planning another baby, there are enough babies in the world anyway
