Drink lots of water, worked for me.... Doesn't mean it will work for you, but it's worth trying. Real actual fruit juice, as in home made is also an option.

LOL! comfort eating! yeah, you're not the only one with that problem. used to, i could polish off a box or two of little debbies if i was stressed or upset.

i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago and now comfort eating is a thing of the past. i'm on a pretty strict diet, glucose monitoring and insulin shots daily.

i would suggest getting a handle on it before you get a visit from the diabetes fairy. it's more than a 'diet', its more a lifestyle change. find something that takes the place of the eating. i know that sounds overly simplistic but i look at it this way--if i want to avoid all the ravages that diabetes can cause--i better clean up my act.

good luck--you can do it.

Honey I feel your pain...hunger pains even! LOL
No hater here babe cause I find myself eating for comfort as well. I gotta stop and say one thing..I know there are some very sincere people on here and I applaud each and every one but I too have a problem with people who think making a flip remark is a funny thing to do..it ain't and it is not appreciated by those who are actually trying to help!
Ok got that off my chest! LOL
Sometimes it helps to get things off your chest rather than keeping them in. I find that when I keep things in the most are the times I am driven to eat more for comfort rather than to satisfy my hunger in general. Sometimes I catch myself trying to please people too much to my detriment ultimately. Maybe if we all spoke up once in a while and got things off our chests we would feel a lot less need to find comfort in food and other things. I really hope I helped ya cause in some ways it helped me! Hugssssss

You have to change what youre doing somehow. Its a habit. My friend does it too. When you get upset, and you want to eat, grab some gum and chew chew chew!!! Do something else, like clean or go for a drive or anything. Just dont eat.

Its just like when I get upset, I want to smoke, well, Im trying to quit, and my son got me upset earlier today, and the first thing I wanted to do was smoke....I didnt do it, I ended up raking the yard instead.

You just have to change your frame of mind...Break the habit.

I think you need to find a good friend that you can call whenever you feel you need emotional support. Better than turning to food.

You answered your own question, and yes you are a comfort eater...find something else to focus on when you're down besides food.
