Often people do and say very impulsive things -- it is always best to observe someone's behavior and see if it is consistent with their words -- if not, its ok to ask why, but in the end you have to decide how you want to be treated by someone who says they love you and never settle for less!

How do you know that they never loved you? I think that for someone to say it, it must be in the back of their mind somewhere. If they really never did love you then they only said it for some type of personal gain, and in the end they were finished using you!!!

Because many people mistake sexual attraction (lust/infatuation) for love. Now please don't take me wrongly. Lust can be a very healthy part of a relationship, but it is certainly not a good corner stone for one. Far too many teenagers are convinced of how deeply they are in love, when it is simply sexual attraction.
Love is a conscious action. Putting the other person first, considering them before yourself. That old cliche line about "if you love me you will" only goes to show that the person using it isn't really in love with you. They are putting themselves first and their needs before your welfare and peace of mind.
There are also the manipulators who will say they love you to get what they want. There is no innocent mistake with these persons, they know what they are after and are being deceitful to get it.
No one who truely loves you will force or coerce you into doing something that you are not ready for or comfortable doing.

It's not that simple...sometimes people really do love, the other person, but then things change and they grow out of love with that person, and find that they are no longer in love.

I DISAGREE.Its not every time that somebody who says dat he loves you is lying, perhaps there r ppl in this world who really love each other, but sometimes ppl falsly claims the love just bcoz either they want to have sex or they wanna show that they have somebody so close to them.
