Broadband hardware advice please ....?

I am on BT Broadband with a BT Network 1200 Router that allows other PC's in the house to share the broadband line through the telephone lines of the house. I need a special adaptor for each PC for this to work. I am thinking of upgrading to a Wireless Modem Router but what additional equipment will I need for two other PC's in the house to share the BT Broadband facility? And will I need software for the new wireless modem router or will that come with it ? Thanks ....

You should need any software if you PC's use XP, just the hardware and the drivers

BT can provide you with all the equipment - or you could try PC world you need a Wireless ASDL router and a compatable wireless card for each PC. The set up is easy. You can buy them in packs. You can even get extrnal USB devices which are handy if you don't or can't open your machine up

In fact I have four machines linked wirelessly via my BT wireless router although i do use a repeater for added range. One of machines is even a redhat linux box.

I'm on Bt, you need an ADSL wireless router - do not go anywhere near anything with a USB connection! For the other PC's you will need Wireless cards, like you get for laptops, and depending on the age of the PC they may already have them installed.

The loose laptops they provide away, are those that don't sell in shops, why do they not sell in shops? by way of fact the specs of the laptops are not as much as lots. They got here up with this thought of a "loose laptop" with broadband deals as a thank you to off load those low high quality and coffee spec machines. That stated, the laptops are ok for low end consumers, ie, surfing the internet, emailing acquaintances and be conscious processing. something lots extra suitable than this and that they'll warfare. some even warfare with photograph enhancing utility (downloading photographs from a digicam is fantastic tho) in simple terms enhancing them could be extremely a warfare. once you're a low end person, that's never disrespectful, then they seem to be a fashion of having a laptop, with a broadband deal. save around, ask in shops yet have a funds in suggestions and persist with it.

All you need is wireless network cards for the other computers. You can use an internal or a usb. You are trying to spend to much money needlessly.
Just go get the cards. I prefer the USB models.
