Because the men/women/boys/girls that play it are dedicated to the game like no other sport.
It is the true team sport. It is respected by the pros that play it. It becomes ones passion. It becomes ones way of life.

Because it is, also hockey is the only sport where the players show any humility. I saw a Dallas Cowboy get flagged for excessive celebration in Philly today, and I had to laugh. Football is so full of egotistical idiotic players, that there is no need for that kind of penalty. All the players celebrate in football, so if you flag one for that then flag em all, cause they all do it. Hockey players have enough humility to realize that the whole team is involved in every score,
To anyone who says football is better, let me ask why you have to come over to the hockey section bash us and our sport. I don't go over to the football section and rave about why Hockey is better, give us a brake.
One more thing I forgot to mention. One of you said hockey was a bunch of ballerinas or something to that effect. Hockey is the most physical tough sport on the planet. If hockey is so wimpy, then why don't you try it sometime? Try standing in front of a guy while he takes a 80-100 mph slap shot and having the guts to dive in front of it. I bet any hockey player could take on any football player.

Because all other sports, like baseball, football, soccer, basketball, are ALL BORING!! I can't watch those sports, they put me to sleep!! Hockey is fast ... hard hitting ... and fun!! Why wouldn't anyone not like Hockey!!

It's fast, hard hitting, has great action, loads of shots and goals per game in the NHL and junior (forget Europe and those big rinks where it looks like soccer on ice) plus spectacularly graceful passing and saves BUT the regular season sucks--too long and too many meaningless games. The playoffs, esp. first rd., rock beyond belief.
