Are you sending it to an Afghan address or a military address. Usually with the military ones you just send it to the military post office in that militaries country at the normal rate. You also didn't say what country you are sending it from?

The Afghan mail service is pretty bad though. I wouldn;t count on it getting there anytime soon. I used to live on a base there and I remember we got a letter at work that had been sent 7 or 8 months before from Dubai which isn't far.

Well at any rate you should just go to the post office and they will tell you.

To mail a postcard from the USA to Afghanistan you need to put
75 cents postage on it.

The post card cannot be any larger than 6 inches long by 4-1/4 inches high

If from UK First Class Stamps are not the ones you need. Take them to your nearest postoffice and you must get a stamp over the counter normally it costs 0.74p
