And what does it mean translated to English? Yes, another acronym my friend used on me. He loves giving me this sort of homework where I have to figure out what these things mean.

It's an acronym, meaning i.d.a. each one stands for one word. Which words is the mystery.

depens on if he's referring to a name or a place/thing or a reference.
"ida" as one word is nothing if it's not a name. but if he's saying "i da". then only closest thing I can think of is "ich da." Which means "I am there". However, it would be said as "Ich bin da". Which in English = I am there.
