Am I the only one that notices that the "fights" are the same three moves looped? It's cheap, and stupid.

Ren & Stimpy had inferior production quality...wow...how can I respond to that? It's like trying to argue with someone that 5 is a letter. It's not...what else can I say? I suppose I'll add that you are the epitome of idiocy, but other than that...wow.

I see it! The animators were able to save a ton of money by using only 10 frames of animation per episode!

I was going to comment until I saw what Kikiiashianna typed, she basically covered everything I was going to say(damn). I'm curious about one thing, whats your vendetta against anime? I understand that you don't like dbz, but that doest mean you have to force your views down other peoples throats, what you are practicing is what I call good old fashion fascism. I think that dragon ball z's success is only a testament to how wrong you really are. If the animation for dbz looks cheap to you then I wonder what you think about Ren & Stimpy or Batman: The Animated Series for that matter, both were made after dragon ball and had inferior production quality.

I have seen both the American dubbed versions and the Japanese unedited subtitled versions of Dragon Ball Z and its subsequent series. While a lot of the fighting moves are similar, I wouldn't go so far as to say they are the same three moves looped.

The main reason I don't care much for the series is due to how long it takes for an actual fight to start! I mean, there will be four or five episodes of two fighters squaring off and talking smack, then one episode of actual fighting, only to have the fight be lacking of any real excitement. Even then, the combatants end up playing the stupid "one up" game; "you think you beat me but I have (insert generic name here) super power!". Then that guy comes back, and the process is repeated.

Honestly, even though the early episodes weren't as polished as the current shows, they didn't rely as heavily on fantastic alien fighting moves. I liked those fights better.

I will definitely agree on the quality not being up to par with today's standards, of either American cartoons or other anime.

Chillax buddy boy....

Originally Dragonball Z (Like Dragonball) was made in the mid to late 80's. Many of Japan's cartoons from the 70's to 90's had a poor production value. It is obvious now, since the rest of the world has just jumped on the anime bandwagon (in the last 10 years or so...) and we can compare it to shows with better animation.

I'm betting your not a fan of Voltron either... it's animation is worse then DBZ but since it was in the US in the 80's it doesn't seem so bad.

No one said you had to like any of it (I'm not too fond of MANY anime shows)... my suggestion is if it makes you that upset don't watch it.

Hm.
Well animation of the first eps of DBZ did suck, but that was because it was old. Then it actually got better.
And yes, the fights are basically the same moves over and over, but that's because you probably saw the english version on CN. Because the english versions are bad, really. they take out too much stuff because it's violent, hence why they put some stuff in repeat. ugh.

Hmm... I wonder why it's like that? OH RIGHT. That's because the crappy english version has censored SO much out of DBZ that the only fighting that is shown is basically...well...NOTHING but the same scenes over and over again.

You can thank your American dubbing & translation company for that one. They probably thought it wat too graphic for the American viewers. So the real question here should be: "do you not see how bad the dubbed animation of Dragon ball z is?"

Please, do go and watch the Japanese version before you ask stupid questions like this.

Dragon Ball Z is a CLASSIC anime. The japanese version of this animation is mind blowing. You can't even TRY and compare the two.

i agree with dragon ball being too repetitive.. I for one am tired of the same crap over and over super saiyan 1 2 3 4 next thing you know its super saiyan 28 lol..

However it still doesnt make the animation bad that i would pick looneytoons over them LOL... DBZ has been around for ages.. it just barely came out here in the US..

Hey dude, dragonball is a veteran anime,it`s an old classic one so the portraits weren`t very good in the beggining, but then they became better.I think you`re wrong about the fighting scenes, they`re awesome really especially goku and vegeta fighting. You go see the whole anime in youtube without critic eyes and you`ll see we`ll think like me.

i like Kai in simple terms because I hate observing filler, filler is a social killer. (rhyme meant) i like quickly paced action, i for my section imagine that's an exceedingly good determination to maintain time and keep away from observing unnecessary scenes. even with the indisputable fact that others imagine otherwise.
