Oh yes....i work in a law firm...the absent parent is absolutely responsible if the custodial parent pursues child support....you wouldnt believe the parents that refuse financial obligation...its horrible...all in all it doesnt matter....they have to pay up!!!!

If your parental rights have been legally terminated then you are not responsible for child support.

If you are choosing to not have parenting time with the child and do not have a court order, then you will be obligated to financially support the child.

Absolutely....my sister went through the same thing 3 years ago...the father didnt want to pay child support so he thought he could just decide not to see the kids anymore and sign over his rights..He actually told the kids that!!!! He was the biggest dead beat ever....he still has to pay child support.,...the judge even gave him a piece of his mind for trying to give up his kids...what a loser not wanting to support his kids...i hope my sister goes back each year for more....the kids are only 6 and 9 and they are happier than ever

NO. When you sign over your rights, that releases you of all financial responsiblity. That's why both parents usually have to agree and both sign the document.
