(not necessarily in that order; certainly ALL are equally important. (Intelligence and a good sense of humor help too! Oh yes, and finally, attraction.)

Shared beliefs - I have found that most highly successful couples share the same religious beliefs.
The Bible says that we should not be unequally yoked (picture 2 oxen here, linked together by a yoke and one is huge, the other small. They will plow unevenly)
When the same beliefs are shared, everything is simpler - from child rearing to decision making. God bless!

For me there isnt just one factor thats more important than the rest. There are several factors that are all equally the most important factors. They are trust, respect, and acceptance of who you are.

making sure you want to wake up every morning and seeing their beautiful face next to yours. don't get bored wih it that is if you're in it for the long run! also you've got to have good communication with your partner or forget about anything long term.
