Please help! Can you recommend any good products for this? Price doesn't matter, as long as it works. Any at-home remedies for dry skin? The area above my upper lip is especially dry! I don't know why! Please recommend a super-hydrating cleanser, moisturizing cream, and also super-moisturizing products for the eyes! I am sick of loading on the Aquaphor at night and looking like a grease monkey! LOL! Help!!!!!!!

You should start with a good dermatologist or esthetician. Any good salon in your area will have an esthetician on staff. Schedule a face and skin consultation. They will be able to give you more information on your skin type and what is causing this reaction.

Follow the consultation up with a facial. They will use professional chemicals and techniques to calm down your irritated skin. Most of the salons and spas carry specific products for skins that have problems, products only licensed spas and doctors can carry.

A series of treatments at a spa over a period of several months will clear up a lot of what you are experiencing. Follow up with a good skin care line- not drug store skin care. Try Clinique, or Aveda. If you can find a distributor, Sunrider out of California does an all natural skincare line that feels great and doesn't use any harsh chemicals.

Buy a bit pot of vaseline and smother this all around the lip area. I would stop using products on your face because:

1) They obviously aren't working.
2) They're probably making it worse.

Make-up is a BIG no-no. If you are really determined to see better skin, ditch the foundation- infact, all of it.

I would search for a moisturizer for sensitive skin. St Ives usually do some good ones. If you live in the UK, and there is a massive Boots store near you- not only will the staff there have plenty of advice but they have plenty of working (but expensive) products for you to use.

Don't ever mix brands/products.

Hope i helped!

Shea butter is a really good soothing moisturiser, but the best long-term answer is to eat oily fish and plenty of fresh fruit and raw vegetables - and supplements of fish oils and Vitamin C will help.

Also, smoking severely dries the skin (just think what it does to kippers!), as does central heating/air conditioning. Make sure you put a bowl of water above radiators if this may be a cause of the problem.

Good luck!

I personally like Kiehls products. They can be pricey but stop by and ask them some questions on which of their products would work for you. Most counters will also give you samples of other products too.

My friend also like Aveeno. I've never used it but she says it's good for dry skin. you can get this at pretty much any drug store or grocery store. If this is a persistance problem, you may want to see a dermatologist.

I like Roc's eye and face cream. Also, make sure you're using a good sunscreen while outside, even in the winter.
