check and make sure your air tube going from the air cleaner to the engine is crak free. I have worked on cars that have had cracks in these tubes or just not hooked up properly and when put in drive engine angle would change and open them up and let more air in then the vehicle mass air flow sensor knows about and make the car sometime idle bad or can make it rev up and down trying to correct the proble air fuel mixture wise.

It sounds like your vehicel reqires the BASE IDLE sorted / adjusted. This is the setting of the idle of the vehicle without the vehicles computor helping. This should be done at the service. So your vehicle need to go to the service center and get checked out and adjusted.

My car does this when it's cold for about 5 miles then the choke (not sure about the right spelling) goes in. Also does it when I need water in the radiator.

Have you got your air conditioning unit and heated rear window on, because these will both effect your revs.

Your clutch is dragging, get it adjusted plus when the gearbox oil is cold that will cause a drag also.
