World War II. It ended the great depression, created a boom in the economy. Started an industrial revolution. Also gave women more rights since all the men were overseas. People had renewed pride for themselves and their country, and even through all the death, very few if any people were against the war. (The country was reunited).

Hope that helps =) there's prolly a bunch I'm forgetting, but WWII is always an interesting subject to write about.

Well, the Jews suffered a LOT during WWII and at the end of the war they got their nation back from the Arabs after many houndreds of years. Isreal would not be there if it were not for WWII and the events therein. Really bad lead to really good! Of course what they went through was horrible... They did get their homeland out of it.

The Jewish people claim that the Holocaust led to the creation of the State of Israel. Of course, that's not a good thing if you're Palestinian.....

And, World War 2 finally woke up the world to the evils of racism. Before that, racism was an honorable way of thinking for most people. After that, the world saw the evils in racism, and it started the civil rights movement that has impacted virtually every corner of the world.
