I think it gets awfully frustrating to have people see past who you are, and only see your sexuality. Do you ever wonder if, when telling someone you're gay, that they are secretly forming a mental picture of your sexual habits in their minds? Especially in the lesbian community, you tell a guy you're a lesbian, and it's like you can almost physically SEE them forming a lesbian fantasy in their mind...or is it just me? It just seems like in society, if you say you're gay (male or female) that you are seen by most heterosexuals as being sexually deviant and promiscuous, but that's not all gay people are, right? Why do st8 people seem to think that gays are ONLY interested in sex and that it consumes their lives? OR...why is it when you tell a str8 person you're gay, they AUTOMATICALLY assume you (the gay person) wants them, or every OTHER member of the same sex, regardless if they are straight or gay? pfft, don't flatter yourselves.

it's a shame...but in many cases, what you say is true! I luckily have accepting friends and family. but so many poorly educated/ignorant, fearful, scared, jealous, bigoted (pick or add appropriate terminology) people think we're only about sex! I don't have sex any more than any straight people do..and I don't talk about out it like a lot of straight people do (I don't know how many times I've heard guys...AND even gals talking about their sexual escapades). and I have lots of straight friends and they don't brag about their sex lives either. I have a relationship. we are friends as well as partners. and we have many common interests and many friends that we socialize with just like most straight couples. I don't ever wonder what any of my gay/lesbian OR straight friends do behind closed doors...because that's their business! and I think the straight people who automatically think we "want" them are either arrogant or very insecure!

I want to apologize on behalf of everyone who agrees with me. I truly believe that every person was made in God's image, regardless of their sexuality. Believe me, I'm not trying to convert you or anything, I'm just telling you that I think it's wrong to be prejudiced against any sort of people who are different, including gays and lesbians. I admit that when I meet someone who is gay or lesbian, my mind starts going, but then I stop and think about what Jesus would do if he met someone like that. His father made them, and he would be perfectly accepting and loving.
Gays and lesbians are people just like everyone else, and I totally agree with you that they should be seen as who they are-just as everyone else should be seen.
I want you to know that Jesus loves you no matter what your sexuality is, or the sexuality of anyone you love. It should make no difference to the world WHAT you are, only WHO you are inside.

confident, I see a great form of prejudice in the direction of gay/bi/lesbians. it truly is quite unhappy certainly. I additionally desire to work out how people respond to this question reason i could desire to shelter gay Rights. Having a diverse sexual selection would not recommend something to the guy you're. in line with risk people do exactly unlike distinction and distinction is substitute.

Probably not, and that's a shame. People are people, regqrdless of their sexual orientation. Personally, I feel it's none of my business. If some one I lnow tells me they're gay, my reaction is "So what, you're still the same person"

I hope so. But the reality is, some people of our country will never stop stereo-typing.
Intolerance happens because of lack of education. Please be active in your community in getting people to understand the rights of gay and lesbians. I have found that most people who are biased are that way because of stupidity and fear.
Shame on them and good for you for making people think!

What you are is who you are. What you do defines who you are. Those of homosexual persuasion want so desperately for heterosexuals to except them but it goes against everything we stand for. That doesn't mean that we want to be rude to them or anything like that, but exceptance is not going to come. If you are going to continue to be homosexual, then you just have to except yourself and do your thing and quit waiting for the acceptance. I could go into the whole biblical thing but you probably wouldn't want to believe it or except it. Let's just say that there will be an eternal consequence for it and that is something you will have to consider as you go your way.

The bottom line is this: today's society doesn't understand right from wrong anymore. Trying to explain it to some people is impossible...some are just destined to be on the wrong side of God and go to a hell, they claim doesn't exist...oh...but it does! I don't care how many degrees you have, if you don't fear God...you're a moron.

yes there is comming a day when homosexuality will prevail at a majority on the earth, it is predicted in the bible after the anti christ comes into power at the tribulation period of 7 years, people will be lovers of themselves more... homosexuality and lesbianism is the last degrading stage of a human after a continued rejection of Jesus Christ. this takes place in the brain causing the same sex attraction
