ok... I'm 15 and soon I'll take my driving class (some where during this winter)
so by like summer I'll have my permit
my old said if I earn A's for all my classes, he will buy me any car (my choice) that is under $25,000

-I'm looking for a new car, of course
-definitely a sport car....cuz it looks good
-good gas mileage
-good horsepower
-Auto and Manual transmission
-I prefer non-convertible....but a convertible is fine

Should I get a Mitsubishi Eclipse or Mitsubishi EclipseSpider?

any suggestion? Thank You

For $25000, I'd get an early 2000's Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Its fast, looks good, can get in auto, or manual, not a convertible, and awesome.

Hello,

If I were you:
- I would buy a used car, becuase if you bang up a new car, your old man will kill you
- I would pick the mileage, horsepower will just make things complicated for you. After you already have some practice, you can try it.
- I would buy a manual (better mileage, better experience)
- I wouldn't buy a convertible.

So in my opinion, not Eclipse nor Spider, just grab the money and buy something slower and cheaper (being cheap doesn't mean it's a junk). Don't get me wrong, but for a novice driver I would give one week before that rice rocket turns into scrap and becomes your coffin.

Have you ever tried such a car? Strong, front-wheel driven, not for the beginner. First, learn how to drive from instict, so that you don't have to focus entirely on driving the car. For a first car, e.g. a Geo Metro is a good choice.

Regards

The cars are currently listed for your answer are some pretty good choices. Let's add a 2006 v6 mustang to the list. For 25 large you can get a hell of alot of options with it. The Pontiac Solstice or a Mazda MX-5. And remember after you get your new car you'd better be thanking the old man for buying it.

Honda Civic Si. 200 hp four cyl. and still gets 30+ mpg. Looks sharp and you would still have money left for a few accessories like tires, wheels, spoilers, and such.
