Authoritative. I am the parent, not a buddy. Now with teens it's a bit more democratic, but they still know who's boss.

been fairly open with them in giving them the room to make own decisions , and come to us for advice , was told a few years back that wife an I are concidered the cool parents by our kids friends Dont know about the wording of parent styles , I dont like the permissive idea , can send wrong message , democratic is good way to put it , with rights come responsibilty

I am a total dictator. I am a single mother of 4 ages 2-10. we have no time for democracy. They can have a vote when they show me a voters registration card.

I think that I have found the medium. They have some freedom, but I am still the parent and they respect that.
