The girls, 7-13 that were killed have been laid to rest.....And there are 5 more girls still suffering ..............What amazes me is the courage, love, understanding and forgiveness of the Amish ? They are an amazing people......They , went to Charles Roberts funeral to show support and friednship and forgiveness to Roberts' wife and children.............As evil as Roberts was, We need to learn from the Amish people about love and understanding and forgiveness....Their religion keeps them strong.
May the children who have died, rest in peace...And I pray for the Amish families ..........

I live in the community where this happened--2 miles from the school and 1/2 mile from the Roberts home. The Amish are human and many of the first responders were Amish since many are firefighters. They were devastated, but they do transcend that pain and work toward forgiveness.

For people who are so private it was a difficult time for several reasons. Many in the press were absolutely horrendous. The public wasn't a lot better just wanted to see where the girls died. Some showed no respect whatsoever for the community, Amish or English.

At the same time the Amish and English here have been absolutely stunned by the huge outpouring of love and support. We have all chosen to concentrate on the positive and there are a lot of beautiful, warm hearted people out there.

Yes, approximately 35 Amish went to Roberts funeral and also members of Roberts family visited the surviving members of the Amish families.

I truly don't think gun control would have mattered. This man was intent on what he was going to do and nothing was going to stop him.

Of the surviving 5 girls 2 will survive definitely and the other 3 are touch and go.

It is a tragedy that the girls were shot to death...The amish ppl are proud ppl and very caring and forgave Charles Roberts. We should learn something from the amish about their support, forgiveness, and their religion should be held high like the standards of the amish...God Bless the Amish!

What happened to the innocent Amish children was such a terrible tragedy and it sickens me to even talk about it. I am so saddened that one person with such a sick mind would resort to such an awful act. The Amish are truly amazing and after observing how they came to forgive the one who brought so much hurt into their lives, it makes me ashamed of myself. In everyday life, we often hold grudges for such silly things and argue over unimportant details. The Amish have set an example of forgiveness that we all should follow. The Amish families hold a close family bond and the support they show one another is amazing. My prayers go out to the Amish families who have so quietly and meekly laid their babies to rest and also to the wife and children of the man who committed this act against them.

It was a terrible tragedy. We also need to be more like the Amish and learn to forgive more.

I think the Amish people are very strong. We have a lot to learn from them. Maybe if we all learn the lesson that they are teaching us the world will become a better place.

It is sad that the girls died. It shows we need gun control. Nuts like Charles Roberts should not have been able to put his hands on a gun.
