Ok your question has two areas that are seperate.. ferocity and length are different.
Ambrose was a ferocious bowler and his appeals were also similar but they were not long and would turn into a big grin when turned down. Persons who say Walsh have not watched a lot of cricket.
Malcolm marshall was neither a ferocios or lengthy appelealer.
Dominic Cork has been criticized for the length of his appeals. But then how many times has it worked?
Big Merv was one of the longest.

Merv Hughes has got to get a mention in this list!
He used to swear at the umpires as well!
(BTW there has never been a professional cricketer by the name of Steve Munson).

i agree with dominic cork, cos he had to be disciplined at the 20twenty a few years ago. Shane Warne also appeals for ages too
