How do you cross multiply to find:
0 = -3x+5 / 4
I put zero over one but I'm having trouble multiplying it through. If you can offer any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

Is the whole numerator over the 4 or is it just the 5?

If it's the whole numerator you have 0/1 = (-3x + 5)/4
When you cross multiply, you multiply the numerator of one fraction by the denominator of the other.

So this would give you 1(-3x + 5) = 0(4)
-3x + 5 = 0
-3x = -5
x = 5/3

If you only have the 5 over the 4, I would multiply every term by 4 to get rid of the fraction.

That would give you 0 = -12x + 5
Move the -12x to the other side 12x = 5
x = 5/12

The solution depends on how the problem is set up. It was hard to tell from what you posted.

multiply both sides by 4 to get 4=-3x+5, then subtract 5, to get -1=-3x, then divide by -3, to get x = 1/3
so if you need 2 fractions, do 1/0 = (-3x+5)/4, so when you cross multiply you get 4=-3x+5 and continue from there like i said up there^

Haven't done this for 25 year but, I would multiply all by 4 giving
0 = 12x + 5.
So -12x = 5, x = -5/12

0=-3x+5/4 3x=5/4 4*3x=5 12x=5 12=5/x 2.4=1/x
2.4=x

It's been a long time is this right?
