My fiance and I were having sex, and then about a minute after we were finished I started to get braxton hicks contractions. I was getting them every 2 minutes for about 30 minutes. Now I'm just getting them off and on...maybe every 10 minutes. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is this normal?

Also I'm 30 weeks pregnant if that makes a difference.

Braxton Hicks don't usually start quite that early, but I also found that I sometimes had contractions after sex. Braxton Hicks will often subside if you change position, go for a walk (or relax if you're moving about), take a warm bath, etc, but true labor contractions won't stop or slow down. To me it would be important to make sure that your orgasm/s haven't started real labor contractions. With that kind of regularity, it would probably be good to check with your doctor/midwife. Also you might try drinking water as sometimes B/H contractions can be caused by mild dehydration (go figure...)

It is very normal to have cramping and contractions after sex, especially after orgasm. Totally normal!! Keep your fluids up though, really drink! If contractions/cramping stay regular for more than an hour, try lying down on your side or sitting a different way...if they still stay regular for an hour, then you need to seek treatment.

braxton hicks contractions come at anytime. if you time the contractions and they come as predicted when timed then they are true contractions. Get prepared to go into labour.

Take Care and I hope you aren't delivering too early.

O yea, its normal. Sex also can bring on labor because of the semen and the orgasm you have. Just keep an eye on the contractions and if they keep it up for another 3-4 hours call your doctor. But I really wouldnt worry about it! Good luck and congrats on the baby! :)

They are normal for you to have after sex but I dont think they should be coming so early. Thats not a good sign if you are having them this early. They say that its good to have sex while you are pregnant to make your delivery easier, but you have to be gentle becasue its not only you feeling it, its your baby too. So just be careful and ask your doctor to make sure nothing is wrong.

Yes, its is very normal. Almost any physical exercise can bring them on, especially when you're past 7 months.
My doctor told me i's fine as long as it doesn't get too severe. Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy, let the frequency and intensity of the contractions be your judge.

I always had those after sex during the last weeks of my pregnancy, my doctor said it was normal, but just to be safe I would let your doctor know. It's probably nothing at all, but you should always be safe during pregnancy...good luck :-)

Ask your doctor!!!! DO NOT rely on medical advice from people on this site who are not qualified or licensed to give it. They do not know you OR your medical history!!
